The bi-- oops, I mean... the rich aren't like us

The New York Times reports that the late-but-not-really-lamented Leona Helmsley had a slight change of heart when it came to the charitable trust she established upon her death:

[T]wo people who described the statement said Mrs. Helmsley signed it in 2003 to establish goals for the multibillion-dollar trust that would disburse assets after her death.

The first goal was to help indigent people, the second to provide for the care and welfare of dogs. A year later, they said, she deleted the first goal.

What a swell lady she was! I know she had that whole "queen of mean" thing going, but you have to admit there's someone who made a decision to use her will to really turn the public's perception around. She loved dogs! Yeah. Reminds me of a line from a great movie--how does it go...?

Oh, yeah, that's right: "The bitch is dead."
