But this one isn't hiding in a pile of twigs.

You know that's Debbie Harry, don't you?

Hence the "hot blonde" tag on a post featuring a photo of a brunette, yes I do.

:)

If someone had asked about the blonde tag, I would have made a contest out of it--but it seems Dr. Phil would have won. :D

Damn you all! I just knew I'd caught Eric in a blonde mistake. I was going to say, "No wonder you can't see the bunny!"

And to Dr. Phil, for winning the contest before it was even started? Pbbbbttt! (that's a PB reference)

Hardly a contest. (a) I have that picture as my "Plot Bunny Debbie Harry Distracts" You LiveJournal icon. (b) After I posted I saw the link for the photo specifically mentions Ms. Harry.

As for (b): yeah, I would have needed to mask the photo source by downloading/uploading it and renaming it instead of the lazy (and hopefully not too onerous) hotlink to a fellow Blogspot site that clearly gives the game up. And for (a): that was a toughie--I hoped people would recognize her, but after posting it, it occurred to me people might not; had anybody expressed confusion, I would have made more of a game of it. After all, just because my heart goes all poundy for Ms. Harry doesn't mean everybody else in the world knows she did a brief stint as a Bunny at one of the Playboy Clubs before becoming a fixture of the NYC music underground en route to her best-known-gig as the frontwoman for one of the first and best American New Wave bands.

On a related (to contests) note, I have an extra Danger Man Series One box set that I'm considering setting up a contest for. While I'm deciding--how much interest is even out there? Any clues?

As I've never seen Danger Man and I've always wanted to (it's in my Netflix queue, plus I've been in love with the song Secret Agent Man since I was a kid), I might be interested.

Whenever I see Debbie Harry, I feel sad she didn't pass on her beauty and talent by having children. However, it's better she remained childless than procreate with a Jew (co-founder Chris Stein, whom she had a relationship with). Not only would procreating with him have been bad for a child, seeing as Stein suffered a life-threatening genetic disorder called Pemphigus, caused by the heavy inbreeding in the Ashkenazim community, it would have been bad for the White race, because yet another talented & beautiful White woman would be improving Jewish racial stock instead of her own.

Anonymous:

My first reaction is to delete your racist and anti-Semitic screed.

However, I also believe that one of the virtues of a free society is that it allows sunlight to disinfect toxic boils like your comment when they come to the surface. While you have no First Amendment rights whatsoever with respect to a private individual such as myself, I will leave this one comment you've made as an example of the kinds of bigoted idiocy that festers in the dark corners of the world.

Two particularly salient facts: first, the strength of your convictions is borne out by your willingness to sign your post. If the simple registration process for Blogger was too much for you to handle, you might at least sign your name to the bottom of the post. Instead, you clearly feel the need to hide behind the shield of anonymity like a coward. That is, of course, your right, and a signature on the Internet doesn't guarantee that the person signing is who he says he is; nonetheless, you're a coward.

Second: leaving aside the fact that your entire comment is morally and factually challenged, the fact is that anybody who obsesses over what consenting individuals do with each other has obvious insecurities and something verging on a sick obsession. Even if there were anything to back up your bigotries--and let's be clear, there isn't--why do you even care who Debbie Harry or Chris Stein are boffing? They certainly aren't going to be having sex with you, it therefore follows that it's none of your business. (Unless, of course, you happened to live in the apartment underneath them and their sex was very loud and frequent--in which case I can understand some concern with noise, but that's hardly the same thing, is it now?)

There is no valid biological reason for the cultural construct of ethnicity. It therefore follows that there is no reason to be concerned that two adults who have been culturally labeled a certain way are having consensual sex. I am not aware of any evidence that pemphigus vulgaris, which is evidently somewhat more common among Ashkenazi Jews than the general population, is in fact more common because of "inbreeding." Although it is possible that Mr. Stein's pemphigus was vulgaris and that he is descended from Ashkenazi Jews, I have no evidence that either proposition is actually true (nor, to be honest, do I actually particularly care; I'm far more concerned that the world could have lost a phenomenal songwriter and guitarist than I am with the trivia of Stein's family tree). You might note, "Anonymous," that there are at least three varieties of pemphigus, with several triggers, including paraneoplastic, a complication of cancer; I have no idea which one nearly killed Mr. Stein. Nor am I familiar with Ms. Harry's family tree (nor do I especially care); if I had to guess, I would assume that she, like me and nearly every other American, is the product of a wonderful mix of genetic material from six continents. (From what you've written, "Anonymous," I imagine you'd be distressed to know that I am proudly aware of Native American stock and proud to assume that I also possess--like most Soutehrners and most Americans--some African genetic material; correction--recent African DNA, as all human beings in the world originated in Africa and therefore ought to be proud to say they are descended of African stock. You and I are almost certainly mongrels, "Anonymous," the difference is that I'm proud of it and you're an embarrassment to the species.)

You are welcome to respond, "Anonymous," though I'd much prefer you crawl back under your rock and will warn you that I am happy to delete any posts which I find especially egregious. I will also inform you that you will find no friends here, and that my treatment of you in this comment is mild compared to what you might get from any of the regulars. Further, as a note to regulars: "Anonymous" is Fair Game and I'm declaring Open Season on racists, bigots and ignoramouses (not that you fine folks need my permission--just don't hold back on my account). Naturally, if you do respond, "Anonymous," it would behoove you to at least try not to be a bigoted retard in any future comments.

Good day.
