Hey, Eric, what's your all-time favorite Neil Young song?

Actually, nobody's asked me that, I'm just asking myself as a setup for this classic performance of it from Young and The Band with backup from the ever-divine Ms. Joni Mitchell, and captured on film by Martin Scorsese:

(Oh--"Like A Hurricane" is number two.)

I'm pretty sure Old Man is my favorite. But as performances go, having Joni Mitchell hidden in a shower stall is way cool.

You can never go wrong if your choice includes Neil Young! (and Joni Mitchell is just icing on the cake!)

Nathan: yeah, Joni Mitchell is so insistent that she only sings in the shower that she takes a bathtub with her on tour and performs in it onstage. The amount of hot water she uses in a two-hour set is really, really stupefying, but she has a really high-tech green purification/recycling/reheating system now that allows her to re-use approximately 87% of the water and reheat it from batteries charged with solar energy!

That's an absolutely true fact and not something I just made up.

'cause you never make up anything!
