A Place To Bury Strangers, "Onwards To The Wall"

>> Wednesday, March 07, 2012

To be fair, the first time I heard this, I thought it was The Raveonettes, but that isn't a complaint. Quite the contrary (I love The Raveonettes), and if A Place To Bury Strangers somehow gets wind of that last comment, I hope they don't get mad about it. (Though I'd perfectly understand if they're miffed at being mistaken for someone else.)

Anyway, I'm digging the song, with it's buzzing, droning guitars and bottom-of-a-well vocals. This would be a good one to play in a dark room, or while driving with the top down in the country on a night just barely warm enough to have the top down on. I.e. it's a dark, chilly song; brittle, almost. I approve.
